"In essence, the score for UNEARTH began when I was at the Purchase Conservatory working on auditory simulations and sound sonifications of earthquake activity triggered by shale gas drilling. This work lead to perceptualizing fracking earthquake activity data for a Virtual Reality art installation collaboration with an amazing group of programmers and data architects at the Staten Island Makerspace for The New York City Electroacoustic Festival (Abrons Arts Center), as well as the World Maker Faire at the New York Hall Of Science. Taking this data and frequency work and sculpting it into a film score has compositionally been a true marriage of the moment for me, when the parallel paths of science and music I have been tirelessly working towards, have converged as some of the most intense music I have ever created." -- Jane Saunders, composer
"While many of the genre elements arrive late in the film, one supporting element that leaves no question where things are headed is Jane Saunders’ haunting score. A churning, creaking, powerful and dense auditory experience, Saunders’ work provides UNEARTH an omnipresent sonic foundation that exudes tension and impending danger." -- Rachel Reeves, Rue Morgue
